As a group, we strive to provide a unique environment where children with SEN can grow through social and mental stimulation.  We have been going for several years now and some children are still with us from the start, some a long time, or some that have come on leaps and bounds in a short time. 

 

Due to the hard work our volunteers have done over the last 5 years, our group has gained recognition and respect within many circles, we are recognised by Short Breaks, we have achieved some funding for events from the Big Norfolk Holiday Fun fund and we have nurtured a fantastic relationship with many of our venues who look to help us where they can.  We are sometimes given unique opportunities to recognise this.  We have recently been given a small number of Norwich City Football tickets - but in an environment like this we do have to be very thoughtful in who we award these to - after all - we do hope to be given these opportunities more often.

Additionally, some of our older children are undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh awards, and we are able to give them responsibilities within the group to help their progress.

We are not able to do this for all the children in our group.  Our group is specifically for children who have a wide variety of challenges and behaviours - this may make many opportunities unsuitable.  We can not deny these opportunities to those who are suitable, and we apologise if this may seem unfair at times to the other children. But over time with our group, we hope that every child grows, and uses this amazing facility to become the best young person they can be.
